Looking forward to a substantial renovation of the area’s outdated gas pipeline network is the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), which has started a big project for the residents of North Nazimabad and North Karachi.
With a 400-kilometer network of new pipelines to replace the 45-year-old, deteriorating gas pipelines, the project promises better gas pressure and lower leakage.
Acting Managing Director of SSGC Amin Rajput laid the cornerstone for this major infrastructure development. An SSGC representative said that the project is anticipated to be finished in the upcoming ten months.
After more than 40 years of operation, the outdated gas distribution system had grown progressively unreliable, which resulted in regular leaks and a discernible decrease in gas pressure for the local population.
