Dolly Parton surprised her fans with a new rock song off her album Rockstar on her 78th birthday.
Parton posted on Instagram, saying, “Hey fans and friends. I’m going to give you a present because it’s my birthday.”
To celebrate her birthday, she said, “I’m releasing four never-before-heard songs to go along with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you might not have heard before that weren’t on the album.”
“I hope you all have a happy birthday for me, and I hope you enjoy them! Haha. With gratitude for everything, she closed.
Even though Dolly is a legend in the country music industry, she has dabbled in rock with Rockstar, the genre that her husband Carl Dean loves.
She mentioned last year that he loved rock, saying that hard rock was his favorite genre and that country music was his least favorite. He has always played rock music whenever I’m around him, whether it be in the house or the automobile, and we have been together for about 60 years.”
November 17, 2023 saw the release of Dolly’s 49th solo studio album, Rockstar.
