Prince Harry appears to be attempting to establish himself to the best of his abilities.
The Duke of Sussex, who is visiting Canada with wife Meghan Markle this week, wants to be trusted.
Dr. Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror that Harry and Meghan spent three days in British Columbia, Canada, preparing next year’s participants for the inaugural Invictus Winter Games. However, the prince’s ‘commitment to serve’ was not what made headlines. Everyone was drawn in by his brief mentions of family (no, not Archie and Lilibet).
“Harry was straightforward.” When his father told him he had cancer, he jumped on a plane to see the King. Not for long (just 30-45 minutes according to royal clock observers), Harry insisted he was grateful for any time with his dad. Gone is the anger, this is Harry the peacemaker, the reconciler. ‘Look,’ he insisted ‘I love my family’ before conceding that ”any illness, any sickness brings families together,” adds the expert.
She adds, “The problem is that Harry does not belong to any family.” The terrible time he was given with an ailing King Charles (despite the flying miles and cost) exemplifies the Duke’s father’s rarified worldview. Just like his grandmother, the late Queen (who never touched Harry), being King at 75 is a big, distracting job, especially when you’re sick.
“Harry undoubtedly meant it when he said he was ‘fortunate’ to have a quick visit with his father. This could explain why the Duke is suddenly on his best behaviour. When queried about the King’s condition, he responded, “That is between me and him.” Leaky Harry is clearly eager to show that he can be trusted, but is it too late?
