SHANGLA: The deputy inspector general of police (DIG) for Malakand said on Tuesday that a car attack in Shangla’s Besham city resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals, five of whom were Chinese nationals.
The DIG confirmed the number of deaths, stating that the automobile carrying the Chinese nationals was struck by a suicide bomber who had loaded his car with explosives.
According to him, the car’s Pakistani driver was hurt in the assault and sent to a nearby hospital.
The driver later passed away from his injuries while receiving care.
According to Geo News, one of the Chinese engineers who passed away was a woman.
According to the authority, the Chinese nationals were engineers traveling from Islamabad to Dasu camp in Kohistan.
A sizable security detail came at the scene of the event and roped off the area in the meanwhile. A search for the accused has been initiated by security forces in the vicinity.
