After 14 years of marriage, the couple announced their divorce on Saturday.
Holmes gave a quick speech to thank the public for their support about the news.
“Just before we move on, I would just like to thank everyone for their support in the last few days regarding the news of Ruth and my separation,” he stated.
“Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
He had mentioned earlier in the show that he had a “emotional” weekend watching Manchester United vs. Man City in the FA Cup final.
Before leaving the show in 2021, Holmes and Langsford co-hosted the daily chat show This Morning on News for 15 years.
The 64-year-olds began dating in 1997 and got married in 2010.
Following his departure from This Morning, Holmes became a presenter on News, where he also hosts the breakfast show. Langsford is a regular on Loose Women.
Along with hosting several episodes of Channel 5’s How the Other Half Lives and Do the Right Thing With Eamonn and Ruth, they also frequently appeared on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox.
