Ahead of its much awaited Friday finale, The Traitors has made a striking appearance on one of the UK’s most famous landmarks. Creative revealed a dramatic projection on the White Cliffs of Dover to mark the final week of the hit show.
The large scale display features The Traitors logo along with the line, “The time for chalk is almost over.” The message cleverly links the chalk cliffs of Dover with one of host Claudia Winkleman’s most recognisable lines from the show, “the time for talk is over,” which signals the end of roundtable debates and leads into the banishment vote.
The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, follows 22 contestants living together while secretly divided into two groups. The faithfuls must work out who the traitors are, while the traitors quietly eliminate players during the night. The goal is to win a cash prize of up to £120,000 by surviving to the end of the game.
Susan Ayton, creative director at BBC Creative, said the show has grown into a nationwide obsession. She explained that the final week deserved something bold and memorable, and the White Cliffs of Dover provided the perfect backdrop for a dramatic farewell moment.
Alongside the main message, the projection also includes glowing green and red firepits. This detail directly references the fire of truth from the show’s finale. In the final episode, contestants gather around this firepit to decide whether to end the game or continue banishing players.
Each finalist makes their decision by throwing a pouch into the fire. A red flame means they want to banish another player, while a green flame signals a vote to end the game. Faithful players choose to end the game only when they believe all traitors have been eliminated.
If the faithfuls are right, they split the prize money among themselves. However, if even one traitor remains, the traitors take the entire prize. This tense format has helped make The Traitors one of the most talked about shows on British television.
