A huge package worth more than Rs25.25 billion has been finalized by the federal government for the workers of the Utility Stores Corporation, which is closing.
The Utility Stores Employees Union was consulted throughout the preparation of the benefits package by the Ministry of Industries and Production.
Plan of compensation for long-term workers
Official records that Samaa TV was able to get state that permanent staff who have worked for more than 20 years will each receive Rs3.443 million. Each employee with fewer than 20 years of service will receive Rs 2.436 million.
The package has set aside Rs1.552 million for each of the 230 permanent employees who have two years or fewer left until they retire. 5,229 regular employees would receive payouts totaling Rs13.18 billion.
