RAWALPINDI: Top military leadership warned that New Delhi’s inflammatory rhetoric ran the risk of upsetting regional peace, and the Pakistan Army pledged a “swift and destructive response” to any act of Indian aggression on Wednesday.
According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the decision was made at the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), which was hosted at General Headquarters (GHQ) and presided over by Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
As part of a trend of “whipping up war hysteria for political gain,” the forum voiced serious worry over “irresponsible and unwarranted statements” made by India’s military and political leadership.
