Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, criticized India’s “disappointing” performance during the Asia Cup and announced on Monday that the squad would donate the money from the Asia Cup final match to the families of the children and bystanders killed in the May Indian bombings.
Following the Dubai final, Agha told reporters, “What India has done this tournament is very disappointing.” By refusing to shake hands, they are demeaning cricket, not us. What they accomplished today is not typical of good teams. We wanted to fulfill our responsibilities, so we went to pose with the prize alone. We accepted our medals as we stood there. To put it mildly, they have been extremely disrespectful.
