For their first Test match against England, Pakistani cricket selectors named a 15-man team on Tuesday. Aamir Jamal, a right-arm fast bowler, is back in the lineup.
Jamal last participated in the game’s longest format during a three-match series against Australia, where he claimed 18 wickets.
In the most recent game, he was named player of the match for his tenacious batting, scoring 82 off 97 and taking 6/69.
“The selected players have been withdrawn from the Champions One-Day Cup playoffs to allow them some rest ahead of the series,” said a Pakistan Cricket Board press release on Tuesday.
The first Test match between Pakistan and England is scheduled for October 7–11 in Multan. The team was to meet on Monday, September 30, in Multan.
