In the opening match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by seven wickets on Thursday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh easily scored the winning runs with 113 balls remaining and just three wickets lost, despite being set to chase a small 130-run mark.
With an undefeated 54 off 77 deliveries, dotted with eight fours, left-handed opener Haider led the way and dominated their chase.
Captain Nigar Sultana, who scored 23 off 44 deliveries with five fours, provided her great assistance. A crucial 62-run partnership for the third wicket was also shared by the two.
