In Pakistan, the retail cost of a bag of cement has gone up by as much as Rs. 30, with prices currently varying from Rs. 1,220 to Rs. 1,280, depending on the location.
In order to restore previous price levels, cement companies in the Northern region have raised prices by as much as Rs20–30 per bag, according to JS Global.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), cement dispatches in Pakistan decreased 0.29 percent year-over-year (YoY) in April to reach 2.943 million tons (MTs), as opposed to 2.951 MTs in the same month last fiscal year. This is why prices have increased.
Local cement dispatches decreased by 7.99 percent to 2.328 MT in April 2024 from 2.531 MT in April 2023. But while volumes increased, export dispatches increased by 45.96 percent.
