The Glassworker, Pakistan’s first 2D animated feature film, has been selected as the country’s official submission for the 2025 Oscars’ International Feature Film category.
“We are proud to announce that The Glassworker has been selected as Pakistan’s submission for the International Feature Film category at the 2025 Oscars,” said film director Usman Riaz on social media. This is the first time a Pakistani 2D hand-drawn animated picture has been selected for this esteemed award.
“The Glassworker is a symbol of ten years of ardor and dedication. I hope this story connects with audiences worldwide and highlights the skill and creativity Pakistan has to offer. I am incredibly honored by the selection,” Riaz continued.
