The streets of Paris sparkled with glamour as Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week welcomed fashion lovers and celebrities alike. Front rows at the Chanel show featured stars like Dua Lipa, Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, and Gracie Abrams. Victoria and David Beckham, A$AP Rocky, and Rihanna also made appearances, all eager to see the latest designs from top luxury brands.
Chanel Revives Its Signature with a Modern Twist
Chanel’s debut haute couture collection from new head designer Blazy explored the essence of the brand. While nods to classic Chanel suits appeared, fresh fabrics and modern treatments updated the iconic designs.
Feathers played a central role, inspired by birds ranging from pigeons and crows to the rare roseate spoonbill. Blazy explained, “All kinds of birds appear, as if by magic, from the most familiar to the rarest.” The collection combined traditional Chanel elements with imaginative, ethereal touches.
Dior’s Jonathan Anderson Brings Nature to the Runway
Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson presented his first haute couture line for Dior, creating a show that celebrated nature. Models walked under a canopy of flowers on a mirrored runway, wearing floaty silhouettes adorned with floral accessories, including earrings.
The monochrome collection featured pops of sunny orange, ice blue, and soft pinks. Accessories included a ladybird-shaped bag and a clutch that appeared to sprout grass. Anderson, previously creative director at Loewe, emphasized his unique approach: “My Dior is never going to be a formula because my brain doesn’t work like that.”
Armani Privé Returns After Giorgio Armani’s Passing
Paris also saw the first Armani Privé couture show since Giorgio Armani’s death last year. Designers paid tribute to Armani’s legacy while introducing innovative styles, reaffirming Paris as the epicenter of haute couture creativity.
