The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that the heavy rains that pounded many parts of Karachi on Sunday could cause urban flooding in the low-lying areas of the metropolis.
Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir Halt, Rafa-e-Aam, Bahria Town, and the adjacent districts close to the M9 Motorway are experiencing light to heavy rain.
The Met Office reports that rain-bearing clouds are presently lingering over the megacity’s eastern regions. It went on to say, “These clouds may spread further in the city.”
The Met Office issued a warning that “unusual downpours” are anticipated in Sindh during the next 48 hours.
The “depression” across Gujarat and Rajasthan in southwest India has intensified into a “deep depression,” it continued.
