PESHAWAR: Rather than having two months of summer vacation, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has opted for a single month of holiday.
The elimination of the July holidays has been declared by PHC Additional Registrar Mamreez Khan Khalil in order to expedite the resolution of outstanding cases.
The registrar stated that special benches will be established in July to handle civil cases, and that the benches would handle pending civil cases in order of priority.
He stated that the PHC Chief Justice and other justices believe that complaints ought to be handled promptly.
He went on to say that, after consulting with Additional Registrar PHC Khalil and other top attorneys of the high court, it has been decided to create specific benches for civil cases.He insisted that efforts are being made to computerize the PHC system so that any litigant may view the status of their case on the internet, and he said that the special benches were set up to help the complainants.
