KARACHI: Iqbal Javed Bajwa, the Deputy Station Manager for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Birmingham, has reportedly resigned after it was discovered that his educational degree was fraudulent.
According to a national flag carrier official, Iqbal, the brother of former army chief general (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, was asked to retire by superiors for providing “fake” school certificates, as reported by News.
He said that due to accusations of having a forged degree, the official received a show-cause notice from the PIA’s finance manager in Birmingham on July 13, 2024.
According to The News, Iqbal was allegedly threatened with termination if he failed to provide verification of his intermediate degree within seven days for violating pertinent provisions of PIA’s 2019 Employees Disciplinary Policy.
