The long-standing goodwill between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was reaffirmed when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka during the 80th United Nations General Assembly.
The two presidents talked on ways to deepen their cooperation in a variety of areas, such as defense, trade, education, and culture. Both parties stressed how crucial it is to continue having high-level conversations in order to strengthen their connection and understanding of one another.

Emphasizing the strong ties between the two nations’ citizens, the leaders decided to strengthen sports cooperation, with a particular emphasis on cricket, a popular sport in both. Additionally, they pledged to strengthen cultural and educational links and expressed satisfaction with current ones.
