In addition to promising complete facilitation to Chinese investors and the security of Chinese persons, projects, and investments in Pakistan on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that mutually beneficial business-to-business engagement was essential to a bright future for both parties.
During his five-day visit to China, the prime minister spoke at the Pakistan-China Business Forum and emphasized the potential for bilateral trade and investment, particularly in important areas like the transfer of Chinese technology, industry, and partnerships in IT, agriculture, mining, steel, textiles, and renewable energy.
The prime minister praised China’s development and economic transformation model over and over again, promising to apply it to Pakistan.
“I will go back to Pakistan with this resolve, come what may, we will follow this model of great economic transformation in Pakistan,” he stated to the audience.
If we are true to our goals and to the people we serve, this model should be sufficient to emulate. I swear to God that, while challenging, this is not insurmountable.”
He invited Pakistani businesspeople to meet with their Chinese counterparts and discuss methods to bring Chinese textile industries to Pakistan, as well as to form partnerships in the steel and other industries, as the Business Forum also commemorated the B2B matching.
“This is the right time, opportunity, and moment to seize. Have thoughtful conversations over a meal with your Chinese friends. In my capacity as Chief Executive of Pakistan, not as prime minister, I want to assure you that I will help you to the hilt so that businesspeople in China and Pakistan profit from each other’s markets,” he said.
