After this visit, Sharif will travel to Kazakhstan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) twin meetings.
The foreign office stated, “On President Emomali Rahmon’s invitation, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will make an official visit to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, July 2-3, 2024.”
The foreign office also stated, “The Prime Minister will meet with President Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli Mahmadtoir Zoir Zokirzoda, and Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda in Dushanbe.”
According to the foreign office, “the two sides will also sign agreements and MoUs in diverse areas of cooperation.”
The foreign office announced that the two parties would hold extensive talks on topics of shared interest, with an emphasis on strengthening regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister will discuss key regional and international issues from Pakistan’s point of view during the SCO Council of Heads of Summit Meeting. He’ll stress how important Pakistan is to regional connectivity and collaboration with other SCO members.
