PM stresses need for collective efforts to foster national development

Shehbaz instructs FBR to secure services of top lawyers for pending cases

At the Prime Minister House in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a crucial meeting pertaining to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The prime minister underlined at the meeting how important the FBR is to the nation’s economy and how teamwork is required to promote national progress. “We have to work together for the development of the country,” he stated.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the FBR instructions to hire renowned attorneys to handle matters that are still pending in different tribunals and courts. He declared that he would personally preside over weekly review sessions to keep an eye on the FBR’s continuing reforms and revenue collecting initiatives.In order to speed the determination of tax-related issues, the PM also ordered the creation of Customs Appellate Tribunals in addition to the Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunals. He also stressed the need to develop a plan for rewarding officers in the FBR who have done well.
