The 52-year-old took over as the Blues’ manager on July 1st, but a dismal start to the season led to his mutually agreed-upon departure last month.

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Leicester City, has taken Pochettino’s spot at Chelsea. Maresca has agreed to a five-year deal with an additional year option.

Pochettino said the following on Instagram: “We know there have been ups and downs but we always believed in this team and that we would arrive at a consistent level.”

Chelsea finished second in the Carabao Cup after a dismal start to the season.

won their last five games of the season to finish sixth in the Premier League and go to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Pochettino stated that he and his team had worked “so hard” to give the supporters “a Chelsea you can be proud of” since they knew how important the club was to them.

“They deserve great credit and I hope you felt that too in how they performed on the pitch,” the Argentine added, adding that work had been made to “increase [the team’s] standards.”

He went on to say: “I believe the experiences of this season and big improvement we saw, I hope will only make the players stronger for the future.”
