In response to an alleged traffic infraction, Hill was detained by police on Sunday close to the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, as seen in an video that showed him lying on his front on the ground.
After being freed, he scored a touchdown and pretended to be handcuffed in celebration of the team’s 20-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is conducted” refers to one of the police officers engaged in the incident.
According to the Dolphins, a number of teammates had stopped and gave Hill their support.
After the game, defensive lineman Calais Campbell told NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe that in an attempt to “deescalate the situation,” he was also handcuffed.
After the game, Hill said he had no idea why he had been pulled over and given handcuffs.
“My mum didn’t raise me that way, therefore I wasn’t disrespectful. I refrained from swearing. Never did any of that. After winning the Super Bowl, the 30-year-old remarked, “I’m still trying to figure it out.”
“I was simply following my uncle’s advice, which was to simply listen and place your hands on the steering wheel, in a similar circumstance. Man, you gotta use caution.
