In a significant political event, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa top Minister Ali Amin Gandapur called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, hailing his first meeting with the top executive of the opposing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as “positive”.
He made the statement during a press conference after meeting with the premier, which was attended by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and other PML-N leaders.
CM Gandapur, who is a member of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasized the importance of engaging in political discourse with the party’s incarcerated founder, who has been in prison since August of last year on charges ranging from terrorism to corruption.
“I have asked the Prime Minister to engage in political dialogue with Imran Khan. “Political engagement will result in a political solution,” he concluded.
