Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Omar Ayub Khan, announced on Friday that the party, which was once in power, would begin a protest movement under the auspices of a “grand opposition alliance” to protest the purported manipulation of the February 8 general elections and to demand the “restoration of the Constitution and democracy” in the nation starting with Balochistan.
The party founded by Imran Khan had declared earlier in the month that it will begin a nationwide campaign against alleged election manipulation on April 13. After meeting with the PTI founder in Adiala jail, party leader Asad Qaiser spoke to the media in Rawalpindi and said that the protest movement’s first gathering would take place in the Pishin district.
The party created by Khan felt that the current government had altered the election results and stolen their mandate.

According to Ayub, the protest movement will start in Balochistan and then spread over the entire nation.
The inclusion of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), in the grand opposition alliance will be the topic of a meeting of opposition groups slated for today.
