ISLAMABAD: As the newly formed government prepares for the Senate election on 48 seats, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have agreed to support each other in the upper chamber by-elections on March 14.
Six seats in the general category became vacant, one in the federal capital, two in Sindh, and three in Balochistan, when senators resigned after being elected to the National Assembly and the provincial assembly of Sindh and Balochistan, respectively.
Furthermore, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has set an election to fill 48 Senate vacancies on April 2.
