KARACHI: Amid growing tensions with coalition partner Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has called a meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) for October 18 (Saturday).
According to a party statement released on Wednesday, the PPP’s top decision-making body, the CEC, will discuss important political developments and party policy.
After Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz accused other parties of taking advantage of the province’s flood destruction for political gain, the division between the two ruling allies grew even further. The conflict started over the allocation of flood compensation monies under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
