Raza Rabbani, a prominent member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and a former Senate chairman, called on the federal government to promptly take parliament into confidence on a number of issues related to its “new US policy” on Monday.
In a statement, Rabbani emphasized that history had demonstrated that the United States had never been a “reliable friend” and that the people had a right to know the specifics and course of foreign policy.
In response to the agreement with US Strategic Metals (USSM), an American metals corporation, on the purchase of minerals, he expressed sorrow that the media was reporting on rare mineral transactions instead of the government, calling this “unfortunate.”
The PPP leader went on to say that the provinces are the true stakeholders.
