The Royal Family said Friday that Princess Anne, King Charles III’s sister, had unveiled a new painting of her brother at the Scottish Parliament.
The monarch is shown carrying a handcrafted walking stick that was given to him during the Mey Highland Games, while wearing the monarch Charles III tartan in the picture, which was photographed by Millie Pilkington in the sunken garden at Balmoral Castle last October.
The portrait will be displayed next to a 2011 photograph of Queen Elizabeth II that the Princess Royal also unveiled.
The two are thought to represent a symbolic connection between the late monarch’s legacy and her eldest son’s rule.
