Asad Qaiser, former National Assembly speaker and PTI leader, has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in talks with other parties about forming a “grand alliance”.
Qaiser addressed the media outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail following a meeting with party founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He claimed that the former premier had asked him to meet with and engage other political figures, including Akhtar Mengal of the BNP-M.
“We have a one-point agenda that there should be a complete and permanent end to rigging in elections,” he went on to say.
He also declared plans to begin conversations with other political groupings, notably the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), to form alliances and pursue their shared goal of transparent elections.
“We are moving towards a grand alliance. We want a permanent solution. Our struggle is for the supremacy of the law and the Constitution. People are requested to protest peacefully,” Qaiser remarked.
