ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the government should not be forced to take drastic actions by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Naqvi warned that if the KP chief minister and members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continue to cross the lines, drastic action may be taken.
“It seems that he is not prepared to abandon his plans to storm the federal capital,” he stated in response to events that transpired as a result of PTI’s protests.
Ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, police enforced Section-144, which prohibits political activities in the twin cities, to ensure security. As a result, over thirty PTI workers were arrested for protesting in Islamabad.
