ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration is scheduled to propose its budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 during a session of the National Assembly. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has indicated that it will protest.
Following the Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) meeting to determine its agenda, which was held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in the federal capital on Wednesday, PTI MNA Ali Muhammad Khan made the declaration.
The congressman declared, “The Form-47 rulers don’t have any right to present the budget.”
According to him, the PTI did not bring up the idea of having a conversation with the opposition. If the government is serious about this, it should move the dialogue along, he continued.
Ali went on to say that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has absorbed the party’s message.
He mentioned that Achakzai has offered to help with talks with the government on reconciliation.
Notably, Barrister Gohar declared on Tuesday that the party founder had authorized discussions with the political opponents. However, today PTI designated the PkMAP leader as the leader of the negotiations through the opposition alliance’s Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen (TTAP) platform.
The sources further stated that earlier today, the SIC meeting—which also included lunch for the lawmakers—discussed issues such as budget address, protest strategies, and the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently detained.
Barrister Gohar, Omar Ayub, the leader of the NA opposition, SIC Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and leaders of the PTI, including as Asad Qaiser, Amir Dogar, Zartaj Gul, Ali, and other NA members of the alliance, were present at the meeting.
