: Taking a strong stand against the anticipated move regarding judicial reforms by the PML-N-led ruling alliance, the main opposition party, the PTI, declared on Sunday that they would not tolerate any “politically motivated legislation” that would allow the nation’s top judge to be reappointed.
Asad Qaiser, a senior PTI leader and former speaker of the National Assembly, responded to a statement made by Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice, in which the latter alluded to the possibility of introducing constitutional amendments to alter the customary method of choosing justices for both the Supreme Court and lower courts.
