ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) requests to postpone the case’s hearing until the Supreme Court clarifies its July 12 verdict on the issue of reserved seats.
The ECP argued in its ruling that the PTI has already greatly postponed the subject of intra-party polls and that it would not be appropriate to do so again.
The three-member panel of the electoral body, which consists of Justice (retd) Ikram Ullah, Shah Muhammad Jatoi, and Nisar Ahmed Durrani, released the verdict, which was reserved on August 27.
