KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi’s weather is predicted to stay hot and muggy until Sunday.
The PMD did note that there was a chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening, so people might get a respite from the terrible weather.
Additionally, it forecasted that the megalopolis’s highest temperature will reach 39°C. “The air is 75% humid,” the meteorological department reported.
This weather-related update for Karachi comes after light rain fell in some areas of the city on Friday.
For the past few weeks, the weather in Sindh, especially Karachi, has been dry and scorching. However, on Friday, the province’s other regions—Larkana, Shikarpur, Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, and others—saw rain and thunderstorms.
Little rain fell in several districts of the city, including North Karachi, New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Garden, Lyari, Saddar, old city areas, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. This was a welcome change in weather after a protracted period of oppressive heat brought on by early monsoon temperatures.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz had already predicted that there might be “more than normal” rains in Sindh, including Karachi.
