Yemen’s Houthi group launched missiles at a Liberian-flagged container ship in the Red Sea, but the US Central Command said on Tuesday that the ship was not struck.
According to CENTCOM, two anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired at the Pinocchio from Yemeni territory, with no damage or injuries reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea stated that the organization had attacked and hit the ship, which he described as “American”.
According to Equasis and the International Maritime Organization, the Pinocchio is a Liberian-flagged container ship owned by Singapore-registered business OM-MAR 5 INC.
Sarea stated that the Houthis would increase their military operations during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in solidarity with Palestinians in reaction to the war.
