Facebook users who had their accounts compromised and used to sell phony Taylor Swift tickets have blasted the social media site for not doing enough to thwart the con artists.
Some claimed that after falling for scam posts claiming to have tickets to Swift’s UK tour dates, pals had lost hundreds of pounds, and Facebook had ignored their repeated requests to report the hacks.
Worcester resident Kerry Plant stated: “We could have stopped a lot of this if they had responded to this a little bit sooner.”
Facebook stated that it is “continually investing in protections against fraud” and that it “takes the safety and security of our community seriously.”
The pop star’s Eras tour is making its way around Europe, and tickets are in high demand when she appears in Paris.
