According to the ruling, Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer has won his well-known defamation lawsuit against Major (retd) Adil Raja at the London High Court by a landslide.
According to the UK High Court Judge Richard Spearman KC, Raja made false accusations and defamed Naseer without any supporting evidence. As a result, the court awarded Naseer £50,000 in damages and an injunction prohibiting Raja from ever making the same unfounded and false accusations.
In order to verify that Naseer won the lawsuit and that the accusations were defamatory, the court further mandated that Raja publish a summary of the ruling. Raja will be responsible for paying Naseer’s legal fees, which the court has approved to be around £300,000.
