When we discuss Gen Z, what comes to mind? They are dismissed by older generations as being too dependent on technology, easily distracted, impatient for speedy results, and overly sensitive. One would hardly think of the word “revolution” while describing them. However, Nepal has experienced what is being referred to as a Gen Z revolution—one that is violent, led by young people, and characterized by hundreds of violent, theft, and jail acts in addition to the fall of the government. Many people are praising and admiring it. However, is this merely a Gen Z mood swing or is this truly a Gen Z revolution? Does it continue Nepal’s history or is it an exception? Most significantly, is it possible for Pakistan to experience a similar phenomenon? Let’s attempt to respond.
