In her email, sent on December 13, Michele described the play she attended the night before with friends, including Billy and Janice Crystal, and members of Williams’ family. “I’m sure you have heard from Tera [Williams’ wife], but the show last night was amazing,” she wrote, expressing hope that Williams would one day see the production. She ended the message warmly: “Hope you’re doing well, Love you—Michele.”
Family Tensions the Night Before the Murders
On December 13, the night before Rob and Michele were found dead, Nick reportedly had a heated argument with his father at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party. Sources told People and the L.A. Times that Nick’s behavior was disruptive and concerning to other guests.
Discovery of Rob and Michele Reiner’s Bodies
Upon entry, officers discovered Rob and Michele deceased. The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division launched a full investigation, interviewing family members and associates.
Nick Reiner has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances of multiple murders. He faces a potential sentence of life without parole or the death penalty. He is scheduled to be arraigned at Los Angeles Superior Court on January 7.
