It can now be stated that Russell Brand is being investigation for rape claims made by two additional women.
After a three-week trial, a jury of eight men and four women at Southwark Crown Court convicted the disgraced comedian guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
According to the investigator who oversaw the police investigation, more victims are probably going to come forward after his conviction.

Police Encourage Women After Verdict
The Metropolitan Police’s Det Supt Andy Furphy expressed his hope that more women will find “courage” and “confidence” in the guilty convictions.
Brand was acquitted of one count of attempted indecent assault and two charges of rape.”As he grows accustomed to something, it gives him more confidence,” Furphy remarked. “You can certainly see that in his offending.”
As part of the inquiry, hundreds of people were questioned, and according to the police, a number of witnesses—some of whom had previously had sex with Brand—came forward. Perry, Katy.
Four Women Accuse Russell Brand of Abuse
Formerly one of the most well-known and sought-after performers in the UK, Brand, 51, was called “ruthless” and a “sexual predator” in court.
Some of the ladies claimed that what he had done to them had left them “haunted for years.”
Police did not question American singer Katy Perry, who was married to Brand from 2010 to 2012, as part of their inquiry.
Four women accused him of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse, which he vehemently rejected.
Police Face Challenges in Brand Investigation
According to Furphy, cops found it difficult to deal with Brand’s high profile and the tremendous media attention surrounding him.
The fact that all of the accusations were “non-recent” presented another challenge for the team. The oldest was 27 years old. It meant that neither CCTV nor forensic evidence was available.
Police had to find alternative methods to strengthen their case, according to Furphy. Can we examine the victims’ locations at the time? In the aftermath, who did they talk to? Did they inform anybody else? What additional materials are available for us to examine?
Brand was initially interrogated under caution two months after the police inquiry started. In the months that followed, he was interrogated twice more.
He gave officers a prepared statement at each interview, stating that he did not recognize the complainants or remember the alleged encounters and that any sexual activity would have been consensual. Then he said “no comment” in response to the cops’ inquiries.
Early in April 2025, Brand was charged with one crime of rape, one count of oral rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one claim of indecent assault.
Russell Brand Faces Additional Charges and Trial
The following month he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, in London. He was swarmed by camera crews, so much so that it took him more than two minutes to walk the short distance to the court door. At a later court hearing he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Meanwhile, women continued to come forward with more allegations.
In July 2025, Brand was interviewed for a fourth time before being charged with further offences: one count of rape and one count of sexual assault. He also denied those allegations.
And then on 14 October 2026, accompanied by his wife Laura, the actor and comedian entered the glass dock at London’s Southwark Crown Court for the start of his trial.
Police Hope More Women Will Come Forward
Brand listened from the dock as each woman appeared in court and testified before the jury from behind a screen. They occasionally shed tears while testifying.”I believe there’s a good chance that more women will come forward,” he stated. “They’ll probably gain some courage and some confidence from what’s happened in the courtroom over the last few weeks.”
He acknowledges the women’s courage during what has occasionally been a “deeply uncomfortable” process. “They are courageous, determined women and our focus has always been on them, not Russell Brand.”
