The highly anticipated feature of satellite connectivity—which was conspicuously absent from the Galaxy S24 series—is rumored to be included in the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra from Samsung.
This revelation is a significant development for the next generation of Galaxy smartphones, made possible by Android Authority’s thorough examination of Samsung app codes.
Search results revealed allusions to the Samsung phone app, like “You’re in satellite mode.” It is possible to text someone, and you can even text 911. Emergency calls may still connect if there is a nearby cell network,” and “Texting is possible in satellite mode. Emergency calls may still be answered if there is a cell network in the area.”
Samsung has been improving satellite communication capabilities for a number of years.Despite prior rumors suggesting that the Galaxy S23 and S24 will be the models to feature the functionality, those models did not come with it.
But, Apple has successfully integrated satellite emergency calling into its handsets, while Google is rolling out more compatibility with satellites with Android 15.
Thanks to advancements in satellite communication and Google’s integration with Android, Samsung users may soon be able to access these space-bound services on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and maybe the entire S25 series.
