ISLAMABAD: Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, spokesperson for the Foreign Office, said that the historic defense pact between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is purely defensive and has no bearing on any other country.
Khan stated during Friday’s weekly media briefing that the two nations’ leadership was dedicated to achieving unprecedented levels of bilateral cooperation.
A week after Israel’s strikes on Qatar rocked the diplomatic balance in the region, Riyadh and Islamabad signed a mutual defense deal on September 17, thereby solidifying a decades-old security cooperation.
“The agreement states that any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
