TIANJIN: Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) vowed to strengthen multilateral cooperation and take tangible steps to combat terrorism on Monday, strongly denouncing recent terrorist attacks in Khuzdar, on the Jaffar Express, and in the Pahalgam area of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The leaders reaffirmed their strong commitment to fighting terrorism, separatism, and extremism in a joint statement released following the Council of Heads of State meeting in Tianjin. They emphasized that anyone responsible for such actions, including their organizers and supporters, must be held accountable.
While acknowledging that sovereign governments play a crucial role in thwarting these dangers, the SCO members emphasized that it is unacceptable to use terrorist and extremist organizations for political or self-serving ends.
