Stand-up comedian Syed Shafaat Ali impersonated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at a function honoring the national hockey team in Islamabad for their 2024 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup final.
“I would like to congratulate the Pakistan hockey team for making the nation proud at the international level,” the PM remarked in his remarks at the ceremony.
“Pakistan hockey was in decline, but thanks to your hard work, we can see that the country’s good days are returning.”
Following the end of his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz jokingly stated that Shafaat had once caused him “injury,” so when he saw him at the event, he assumed he was in danger.
The stand-up comedian is well-known for his political impersonations, and videos of him doing so have gone viral.
