At the pre-match news conference on Wednesday, Pakistan’s top bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi had an amusing moment when he momentarily forgot Bangladesh’s well-known cricketing moniker, the Tigers.
Shaheen was asked by a reporter if Pakistan would continue to use the same starting lineup against the “Tigers.”
The left-arm quick interrupted him in the middle of his question, perplexed, and said, “Tiger kaun?” (Who is Tiger?). Shaheen immediately grinned and said, “Ohh, Bangladesh, sorry,” after someone in the room clarified the word.
“Mai head coach se puch lunga, sorry mujhe nahi pata,” he said after laughing. I’ll check with the head coach; I’m afraid I’m not sure.
