Speaking on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch described as “preposterous” the allegations made by a former advisor to Prime Minister Shahzad Akbar that he was attacked by Pakistani institutions.
“We vehemently disagree with Shahzad Akbar’s accusations directed on the government of Pakistan, its organizations, and its departments. These assertions are politically driven and unfounded. The FO spokesperson stated at her weekly press conference that Pakistan places a high priority on the safety and security of its citizens, wherever they may be.
She added that Pakistan does not pursue Pakistanis living outside.
Although a number of well-known political dissidents had been residing in the UK for a number of decades, according to Baloch, Pakistan had not committed any extraterritorial crimes against these individuals, despite the fact that those individuals had often been indulged in vitriol against Pakistan.
