Nawaz Sharif, the supreme leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), declared on Wednesday that Shehbaz Sharif is the best candidate for prime minister.
Addressing a parliamentary gathering in Islamabad, the three-time prime minister stated, “Hopefully, the country will be out of the quagmire within two years.” We must stand united in terrible times.”
Nawaz stated, “Shehbaz Sharif has handled government matters well throughout his 16-month tenure. Today, it is a significant deal to get the country out of its slump.”
Taking aim at his opponents, he remarked, “Those who brought him [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder] into power are culprits.”
“If things had remained in the correct path, the country would have already made its mark on the list.
He went on to say, “The country would have become the region’s biggest power, if our momentum could continue.”
Nawaz said, “What kind of project did the [PTI] founder complete during his three-year tenure? He did not injure me or the PML-N, but the whole country.”
Speaking about former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, Nawaz asked, “Where is Saqib Nasir nowadays, and who delivered the verdict against me?”
“Is that judge able to face anybody today?” he said.
“The whole nation is familiar with which of the judges have disqualified me,” he went on to say.
Nawaz recalled the 2014 PTI protests, stating, “The Chinese president’s visit to the country had been delayed due to the PTI protests.”
