In the limited series category, Richard Gadd, the creator and star of the well-liked but contentious drama Baby Reindeer, won prizes for writing and acting, and co-star Jessica Gunning took up the best supporting actress honor.
Following earlier awards at the creative arts event this month, Japanese historical drama Shogun won four prizes on the night, making it the first non-English language program to win best drama. It also broke the record for the most Emmy wins in a single season.
Hacks won the overall prize for best comedy series, but The Bear took up four trophies in the comedy categories, including wins for stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colon-Zayas.
In the meantime, Elizabeth Debicki took home her first Emmy for her role in the fictionalized royal drama The Crown as Diana, Princess of Wales. In addition to her Oscars, Jodie Foster won an Emmy for the first time for her work in True Detective: Night Country, winning best lead actress in a limited or anthology series.
