The Petroleum Division has been given instructions by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to begin the process of resuming a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) facility in collaboration with Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL). This development follows a period of inaction brought on by the parties’ conflicts.
Under a prior arrangement, JJVL had been permitted since 2005 to extract natural gas and LPG from the transmission pipeline of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC). By increasing domestic LPG production and lowering dependency on imports, the partnership sought to advance economic stability.
Due to disagreements between the two companies about processing fees, the initial contract was placed on hold in 2018. Both parties have finally reached an equitable revenue-sharing agreement thanks to SIFC’s participation.
